A Guide to Bali’s Best Waterfalls
Magical sunsets, beautiful beaches, rice terraces, amazing yoga, delicious food…Bali has so much to offer but one of my favourite things about this island is the stunning waterfalls. I lived in Bali for 2 months in the fall of 2018, so it’s safe to say I did a lot of exploring on the island. There are so many beautiful waterfalls all over Bali, but these are the ones you cannot miss during your Indonesia adventures.
Sekumpal Waterfall : This is my favourite waterfall in Bali. It is located in the Northern Region but is still easily completed in a day trip. The hike is steep and long. Wear proper foot gear, be prepared to wade through rivers and bring water and snacks. Don’t worry its absolutely worth the climb!
Tukad Cepung Waterfall : This mystical waterfall and beautiful surrounding area had me feeling as if I was in a magical fairy kingdom. Be prepared to wade through water on this hike and don’t forget your swimsuit! Pro tip: arrive early, if you arrive mid-day you’ll be stuck in the crowds.
Air Terjun Tibumana Waterfall : I think my favourite thing about this waterfall is how perfect it is. It falls so beautifully and is perfectly complimented by the surrounding jungle. Definitely bring a swimsuit, the lagoon is a great place for a swim!
Tegenungan Waterfall : This popular waterfall close to the town of Ubud is so magical! My favourite part about this place is the cheeky signs posted which makes the location unique. Definitely, arrive early to avoid the crowds and don’t forget to wander along the paths leading to the waterfall – you might just find some secret locations!
